January 19th, 2019 was a huge day for me. I have been a second shooter at weddings for Ted Parker, Michael Thomas, and Lindy Michelle, but this was my first full-day wedding shooting as a main photographer. My friend, Courtney Cope and I decided to try to book a wedding together to expand our portfolio and jump into the wedding industry. We have a combined 15 years of photography experience, so we were confident we would be able to successfully capture their wedding day. We were so thankful to have a beautiful and kind couple like Hope and Paul. After doing their engagement shoot, they were willing to trust us and hire us for their wedding day.
Everything about the day was perfect. I am in love with the photos we took covering everything from getting ready, the ceremony, bridal portraits, reception, cake cutting, and send-off. It was at the most beautiful venue in my hometown, Austin, TX at The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge. The Wagner wedding was so Pinterest worthy and honestly gave me some great inspo for my own wedding one day. I want my wedding photography to be more than just your traditional photo coverage, but each photo being unique and a work of art. I definitely learned a lot from shooting this wedding, and can now apply it to future wedding bookings. I would love to do a few weddings a year but keep portraits as my main photography focus.
