Hello there!
I’ve decided to start blogging about my adventures being a photographer. I’ve been taking photos almost as long as I can remember. It started when I was about 12 years old and recruited my friends to recreate “high fashion” photoshoots with our pink glitter lip gloss and a wrinkled sheet back drop. The phrase “everyone starts somewhere” really applies because it took me years to improve to a new level of photo quality. However, by age 16 people started hiring me to take their senior photos, family portraits, or cover events for them.
Fast forward a few years and I was studying photography and advertising at TCU, and found a whole new clientele of graduation portraits. College graduation portraits seem to be a more modern trend, I know in the past people used to just have mom and dad snap a photo graduation day in your cap and gown. However, we live in a new age where “image is everything”, and investing in some high quality graduation photos is worth it to have as keepsakes from your times in college. Each year at TCU I got more and more clients wanting me to do their grad photos. I love doing photos at TCU because I am familiar with the students and I know the best spots on campus and the exact times of day each spot is ideal with lighting.
Now that I’ve graduated college I am living my childhood dream of being a “Fashion Photographer”. I work part-time at The Impeccable Pig Headquarters in Dallas, TX as their Photographer/Email Marketing Director. I get to design emails, recruit models, plan fun shoots, and spend some days out of the office shooting the styled outfits! It’s definitely not your typical post-grad job and for that I am very thankful. It also leaves me with a flexible schedule to continue my photography business full-time. I currently shoot with brands to produce cohesive social media content for them, senior photos in the DFW area, and more recently- weddings.
To keep up with my adventures check back for more blog posts! I plan to share adventures from certain shoots, along with photography tips and exciting news.
xoxo
